an excellent living environment. We often go to the beach with our two sons and two
daughters, ride our bicycles, or walk in the local forests. We live in Haabneeme, where
everything needed for daily life is within reach – schools, kindergartens, hobby schools
and sports clubs, swimming pools, shops, and even a cinema. Viimsi has a strong
community where people look out for each other.
I have been actively involved in Viimsi’s education life, serving as a member and chair
of the MLA Viimsi Kindergartens, Viimsi School, and Haabneeme School councils. A
great recognition and joy was my nomination in the Ministry of Education and Research
competition “Estonia Learns and Thanks 2020” in the “Teacher’s Friend” category.
Since 2021, I have been a member and vice-chair of the Viimsi Municipal Council.
During the four years in coalition, we have managed to restore stability in municipal
governance, increase transparency, and ensure integrity. We have maintained a
consistent approach, ensuring that all decisions follow the principles of sustainability
and social justice.
With the development of the new general plan, we are creating a long-term
development strategy for the municipality. The general plan is now nearly complete and
ensures Viimsi’s sustainable, green, and socially fair development for the next decade.
We have made significant investments in education, culture, and sports infrastructure.
We renovated the Viimsi School swimming pool, built the Viimsi Artium, and added
classrooms and a swimming pool to Randvere School. Additionally, Pärnamäe
Kindergarten and a new football and athletics hall have been completed, offering sports
opportunities for people of all ages.
Soon, the Haabneeme School extension for children with special educational needs and
the special care services center will be completed to provide high-quality social services
for people with special needs in Viimsi. In the coming years, we must carefully ensure
that investments are distributed evenly across all communities in the municipality.
Over the next four years, we aim to continue this work so that Viimsi remains the
municipality with the best living environment in Estonia. My goal is to make municipal
governance more transparent, inclusive, consensus-driven, and responsible. Rules
must apply equally to everyone.
I want to preserve the green environment of the Viimsi Peninsula and improve the
quality of life for Viimsi residents. To achieve this, the rapid population growth driven by
new real estate developments must be curbed. I envision a smart and caring Viimsi,
where every child has access to kindergarten and school, hobby and sports activities
are available to all, and both young and elderly residents have opportunities to learn,
grow, and spend their time pleasantly.
